Who should attend the WYMC?
We’re aiming at each and every woman who is active as a leader in youth ministry — volunteer or paid staff, local church or a parachurch organization, from every denomination you can think of. Young or not-so-young, rookie or veteran, single or married, we want to stand with you in our calling to youth ministry!
What will it be like?
Some elements of the Campference will be like a conference: seminars on a variety of subjects, main sessions with great speakers who will encourage you and challenge you to think in new ways. But other aspects will take advantage of the uniqueness of our tribe and the vibe of a camp: dialogues and experiential learning, loads of fun, shared meals, and plenty of quality free time options.
When and where is the WYMC?
The third Women in Youth Ministry Campference will be held from March 28-30, 2017 at Country Lake Christian Retreat in southern Indiana. It’s a short 40 minute drive from the Louisville airport, 90 minutes from Indy’s airport, and within driving distance from…well, most of the Midwest.
What will it be like?
If our first two Campferences were any indication, it will be beyond our expectations but exactly what we need (#onlyGod). We can tell you what we hope for: a warm, encouraging, inspiring, and relaxing time with women just like you. We want to learn and grow through worship, teaching and coaching sessions, but it’s not our exclusive focus. Above all, we want to connect as female youth leaders and stand together in God’s Kingdom (plus, our leadership team we really wants to spoil you a bit – so we have some fun surprises planned to do just that!). You can check out our schedule HERE.
What is unique about this event?
Well, it’s aimed at women in youth ministry, need we say more? Seriously, this will be nothing like other women’s conferences. If you’ve never wanted to go to an “all women’s” event before, this event is for you. In addition to the camp part of our made-up word, Campference, there are a handful of other things you won’t find anywhere else:
- All speakers are also full participants, and will stay for the whole time. They’ll be at all the meals and fully engage as participant/coaches.
- We’ll stay together and eat together, providing the context for a shared experience very different from a normal conference.
- As the gender minority in youth ministry, our entire time will keep that in reality in mind – both the great joys and the unique challenges! We won’t always talk about it, but it frames our time together. We want to grow friendship because we know you can feel alone.
- We want to help you stand stronger in the calling and role God has given you.
- We want you to leave braver, more confident, and more assured in who God’s called you to be and what he’s called you to do.
- Plus, we want to offer you an amazing experience, with lots of freebies, re-filling experiences, and quality time together. (Hint Hint: leave room in your suitcase!)
What does it cost?
We’ve worked hard to price the Women in Youth Ministry Campference so it’s significantly cheaper than other events (when you add in food and accommodations). Thanks to our generous partners, we’re able to offer different registration levels, all of which include 2 nights’ accommodations and 6 meals.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION (by 10/31/16):
$300 – quad occupancy
$345 – double occupancy
$395 – single occupancy
REGULAR REGISTRATION (by 2/28/16):
$340 – quad occupancy
$395 – double occupancy
$435 – single occupancy
LATE REGISTRATION (after 3/1/16):
$440 – available occupancy
What are the accommodations?
We will be staying in the Main Lodge & Conference Center of Country Lake. It is a beautiful, full service, 52-room hotel which offers a majestic view of the property from its 100-foot deck and a layout that is suitable for groups like ours. All lakeside rooms have a balcony or patio and garden rooms offer a bit more privacy facing the front side of the property. For a little extra space and R&R, you can have a single occupancy room (sounds like heaven!)!!
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Air conditioning is available in all rooms. Linens and daily room cleaning service are provided.
How do we get there?
If you live in the Midwest, just drive. If you’re flying in, you probably want to fly into Louisville (the camp is 35 minutes from the Louisville airport). It’s also about 90 minutes from the Indy airport. We’ll try to coordinate some transportation from the Louisville airport at some point, for the cost of sharing a car.
