In a time where it feels like there is a rise of tensions, conflict, and divisiveness, we can all agree that the pursuit of peace is a worthy cause. What’s important to understand though about the Biblical idea of shalom (the Hebrew word for peace), is that it isn’t just about an absence of conflict. To a certain degree, peace can be misunderstood as individual comfort. Instead, shalom is so much bigger and actually is quite an active term that calls for our participation. The shalom that God promised, and that Jesus epitomized is something we are invited to help bring about in the world around us.
Viva! Shalom invites you to discover what Biblical peace really looks like in our lives. We will explore different Scriptures to get a better understanding of shalom and discuss practically what the pursuit of peace should mean for our families, schools, and communities. Specifically, we will look at the following:
Week 1: What is Shalom?
Week 2: Shalom with God
Week 3: Shalom Within
Week 4: Shalom with Others
Includes 4 lessons, instructions, and two slide templates for PowerPoint, Keynote, MediaShout, ProPresenter or another display system.
