Viva: Micah

$5.99

Description

  • Finding Significance: What does God want from us, really? This is a question that has troubled generations of people trying to follow the will of God, from the ancient Hebrew people to many of us today. In this Viva! Series your students will get a chance to dive deeply into Micah 6 and explore what it means to matter. This lesson will provide an overview to Micah 6: 1-8 and show us that what the Lord requires of us is to matter to those around us and that this is “good.”
  • Making Justice: In this Viva! Series your students will get a chance to dive deeply into Micah 6 and explore what it means to matter. This lesson will walk your students through what it means to “act justly” as a key component of the good life God calls us to. Justice isn’t simply something for superheroes and lawyers to enact, but a lifestyle we get to actively participate in.
  • Loving Mercy: In this Viva! Series your students will get a chance to dive deeply into Micah 6 and explore what it means to matter. This lesson will walk your students through what it means to both “love mercy” and exhibit a deep, loving kindness to those around them.
  • Walking Humbly: In this Viva! Series your students will get a chance to dive deeply into Micah 6 and explore what it means to matter. This lesson will tour your students through what it means to both “walk humbly” with our God and allow that to lead us into an “and” life. An “and” life is what life looks like when we act justly and love mercy and walk humbly with our God.

How to Use Viva

We wrote this curriculum for those of us who might have been given a last minute assignment to lead a group. If you can put your hands on the supplies you should be able to walk in and teach this lesson with minimal prep. But you don’t have to wait to the last minute either. All groups benefit from preparation. So take some time, if you have it, to read through the lesson before you meet.

Each of these lessons can be led in different ways. Please be sensitive to your group. You might have a group that really wants to dig into an idea, or you might have a group that just needs to hear the basic truth. You get to decide that as you meet.

Finally, please feel free to discard any of this content to stay in your group’s context. The best curriculum for your group is you, caring for them as they get to know God.
