The Bible contains four different accounts of the life and teachings of Jesus. Each Gospel was written by a different author, at a different time, to a different audience and for different reasons which beautifully displays the immense impact that Jesus had in the world. As there are many similarities between the accounts, there are only two miracles that are recorded in all four Gospels: the resurrection, which is an obvious inclusion, and the feeding of the 5,000.
Viva! Feeding the 5,000 explores each Gospel’s account of this miracle of Jesus and discusses some of the differences between the author’s portrayals. Specifically, we will ask why the Holy Spirit inspired each author to tell the story the way they did for the audience they were writing for.
Here is what we’ll be discussing:
Week 1: Mark’s Account
Week 2: Matthew’s Account
Week 3: Luke’s Account
Week 4: John’s Account
Includes 4 lessons, instructions, and two slide templates for PowerPoint, Keynote, MediaShout, ProPresenter or another display system.
