Youth Pastor

A full-time staff position providing leadership and pastoral care to the DSPC Youth Ministry (6th-12th grades.) The Youth Pastor will lead youth programs and activities that promote fellowship, fun and faith. This role will interact primarily with students and their parents. The Youth Pastor will work to develop and maintain mutually respectful relationships with youth, their families and the entire DSPC staff and congregation.

  • Understands, supports, and protects DSCP’s mission, values, and culture
  • The desire to grow leadership skills in a church environment
  • Proficiency in all communication platforms including social media


  • Conduct him/herself in a Christ-like manner and demonstrate high personal standards
  • Establish meaningful personal relationships with the youth in the DSPC community by investing in their lives and being present wherever teenagers are in Dripping Springs.
  • Be a present and positive force by attending lunch at the area schools and students’ extracurricular activities. Examples include (but not limited to): sporting events, concerts, school plays, and awards ceremonies, etc.
  • Show up predictably, consistently and on time to youth programming and DSPC events
  • Plan, prepare, implement, and facilitate all aspects of weekly youth ministry at DSPC
  • Plan all events, trips, retreats and camps for Middle School and High School Ministries
  • Regularly and creatively communicate with students, parents and volunteers using a variety of media platforms (video, social media, email, texting, )
  • Manage an annual budget and work to maintain good stewardship of church’s resources
  • Assist in the implementation and facilitation of the Confirmation class (7th grade)
  • Work effectively with parents to foster support of the youth program, including providing opportunities for involvement, input, and feedback
  • Represent DSPC by being an active leader in the Dripping Springs community, including, but not limited to, the area Youth Pastors’ weekly networking group and Fellowship of Christian Athletes programs at the middle schools and high school
  • Work alongside other pastors and church staff members as a team player
