The Youth Minister for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Salisbury Parish is a part time non-exempt seasonal lay position from August 20 Through June 10 (42 weeks) that oversees and supports Youth Ministry work of Christian formation in the parish. The Youth Minister is required to work on Sundays (9am-11:30am; 3pm to 6pm), with some office time during the week, totaling 10 hours a week. This position reports to the Rector.
The Youth Minister demonstrates skills in teaching and leading a youth group of middle school and high school aged youth. Mature and able to relate professionally and successfully to children and youth in a religious setting. Experience leading religious youth programs required. Experience working in Episcopal Churches preferred. Highly organized, attention to detail, experienced interacting successfully with parents and adults in the parish, a strong, personal walk with Christ, an active prayer life, ability to work as part of a team. High school diploma is required, college degree preferred. Able to use basic office equipment, proficiency in word processing, desktop publishing, and social media a plus. Completion of Safeguarding God’s Children Training and the completion of a criminal background check required.
