Overview

The TEN12 Community Director develops and supports the TEN12 community through the development of leaders, coordination of effective ministry systems, and fostering impactful relationships with leaders and students. This position is a part of the Student Ministries Team, works very closely with the TEN12 Program Director, and reports to the Director of Student Ministries.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading
    • Cast vision with the TEN12 Programming Director for the overall development and implementation of the TEN12 program, specifically weekly house groups
    • Recruit, train, and develop adult volunteer leaders; point-lead the House Group Leader and Small Group Leader teams (meetings, communication, training)
    • Facilitate recruitment of host homes for weekly house groups
    • Coordinate with the ParentLink Advisory Team to provide weekly meals for house/small group leaders in house groups
    • Write and send weekly email to all TEN12 volunteer leaders
    • Provide direction for Ministry Assistant regarding tracking and upkeep of TEN12 database (attendance, wonder wall, pictures of leaders, etc.)
    • Participate in leading college interns and summer staff during summer program season
    • Plan and attend TEN12 trips and events with the TEN12 Programming Director
    • Brainstorm, develop, and write weekly small group curriculum with TEN12 Programming Director
  • Relationship Development
    • Develop relationships with a broad number of students through weekly programs, intentional one-on-ones appointments, and outside relational contact work (attending games, concerts, etc.)
    • Engage and meet with House Group & Small Group Leaders, supporting them through ministry and personal issues as needed
    • Spend regular time with adult volunteer leaders, including ParentLink representatives for encouragement, assistance, and empowerment
    • Meet with and disciple students on a regular basis
  • Speaking and Learning
    • Speak occasionally at TEN12 Large Groups and events
    • Speak occasionally at other Student Ministries programs–Access, Elevate, Commitment Class, leader trainings, and/or retreats
    • Set aside time each week for spiritual learning and study
    • Actively engage regularly with a mentor and other leaders in order to keep learning

 

OTHER DUTIES

  • Attend weekly Student Ministries staff meetings
  • Meet once a month with Director of Student Ministries for development, encouragement, feedback, and accountability
  • Attend all-CPC staff meetings and other program staff day-aways/retreats
  • Participate in various CPC programs, including weekend services, special services for holidays (Advent, Ash Wednesday etc.), and other leadership events

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Actively pursuing a relationship with Christ
  • A working knowledge of Scripture and an active prayer life
  • Commitment to make CPC your church home and faith community; be in agreement with the mission and values of CPC
  • Leadership skills and abilities
  • Ability to engage students in authentic, relational ways
·         Experience working with and leading high school and middle school students
  • Self-starter, strong work ethic
  • Ability to recruit volunteers
  • Relational experience leading parents and volunteers
  • Proactive communicator, collaborative spirit, and team player
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • BA/BS degree relevant to ministry work and ministry experience in the area of students
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Curriculum use and development
  • Basic understanding of vocational ministry
  • Strong organizational, detail-orientated, and multi-tasking skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended times

 

POSITION REPORTING: The TEN12 Community Director reports to the Director of Student Ministries

 

HOURS: This is a full-time, exempt, year-round position

 

TRAVEL: This position requires travel to camps both assigned to and as needed depending on the season
