Grace Community Church is looking for our next Student Ministries Pastor. This person will lead our middle and high school ministries, working with (and expanding) our leadership team to care for and disciple students.
Greensboro is a really nice city to live in. We have seven colleges and universities; our downtown is a growing and fun place to hang out; and we have many parks and greenways. We’re a part of ‘The Triad’: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point, including over 1,600,000 people.
At Grace, we want to disciple students and empower them to make disciples as well. Our Student Ministry pastor will partner with parents to assist them with the spiritual growth of their kids. This work will involve work on school campuses and at school events and investing directly in leaders and students. Our ministry is diverse racially and economically. We’re looking for a self-starter, someone who is really good with people, and someone who is able to be excellent in the organization and administration aspects this job requires. He/She will also be a part of the pastoral staff team and need to be a team player who works well with others on our staff.
In your first year on the job, building relationships with existing families and encouraging students to bring new friends will be key. You’ll build on our existing youth program and develop a plan for how youth ministry will be done at our church in the future. You’ll spend a good amount of time outside of the office engaging students where they’re at. You’ll need to hit the ground running building relationships, but also be patient in learning our church culture. There is a great opportunity to try new things, experiment, and determine what works best as you move forward.
