TITLE:       Interim Director of Children and Youth Ministries


PURPOSE:            To direct and facilitate the children and youth ministries of EPC

                        To offer guidance and suggestions as we evaluate, initiate, and vision for the children and youth ministries of EPC

                        To offer feedback on the strengths and strengthenings of the current children and youth ministries


TIME:            Full-Time (40 hours/week)



Experience or Education

Understanding of best education practices

College degree in Education or related field required

Previous experience in field required

Certified Christian Educator preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Enthusiastic person with a strong Christian faith communicated through faith formation activities

Strong organizational skills

Strong communication skills

Strong initiative and creativity

Team player with good listening skills

Basic technical skills with computers and social media

A love of sharing faith with disciples of all ages



  • With the Learn Commission:
    • Evaluate, coordinate and implement faith formation materials for cradle program through high school age for children, young adults, and their parents
    • Coordinate and administer the faith formation ministries for cradle through young adult and their parents
    • Evaluate and modify existing programs while creatively designing new programs
  • Administer and direct the faith formation ministries
  • Recruit, train, and support leadership for faith formation ministries
  • Coordinate and support special faith formation activities, including GiFT Sunday
  • Communicate faith formation information in church publications and social media
  • Coordinate and communicate activities, trips, retreats, and camps; including service, spiritual growth, and fellowship opportunities
  • With the Worship Commission, provide opportunities for children and young adults to grow in their understanding and love of worship
  • Other duties as assigned by Head of Staff





  • Work involves minimal lifting and physical activity, characterized as light work requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently.
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive temperature and noise.



Accountable to Senior Pastor, Session and Personnel Committee in the

performance of duties



Relate to professional peer groups, session, staff, commissions, task forces, congregation, and other churches in the community.



Position will be evaluated every three months.
