Director of Youth Ministry

You have a passion for your faith.  You have a passion for young people.  You dream of so many possibilities if you could follow both passions, together.

Consider realizing the possibilities you have dreamed about by leading the youth ministry at Wildwood Presbyterian Church.  Your mission will be to lead our youth community to:

LEARN to connect to God through the stories of our faith,

GROW in faith by following Jesus, and

LIVE God’s Word through leadership and service

As part time Director of Youth Ministries, you will be the driving force in meeting the spiritual, social and emotional needs of middle and high school youth.  Through weekly youth gatherings, mission trips, retreats and other avenues you dream up and create, you will lead youth through these critical years on their personal and faith journeys.  Our youth will look to you for encouragement and example in applying Christian values to life situations, both routine and extraordinary.   Our parents and other adults involved in the care of our youth will look to you for regular communication, as will our pastoral staff, Christian education leadership, and congregation.

It will take energy, creativity, a knack for building relationships with youth, and an ability to motivate and inspire youth and those around them.  This is a lot to do in 20 hours a week but you will not be alone.  In addition to having Jesus at your side and in your heart, our youth programs incorporate volunteer adult youth advisors who you will recruit and coordinate to share the load.  WPC has a Child Protection policy which you will abide by and you will ensure volunteers do the same.

Our Director of Youth Ministries must have training or experience in youth leadership, a mature and active faith commitment to Jesus Christ, love of the church, and an appreciation for Presbyterian and Reformed traditions.  While a college degree is ideal, we will also consider those who are a degree candidate in youth ministry or a related field.  Because of close involvement with youth, we will conduct a background check and are unable to consider candidates with a record of child abuse or related offenses or those listed on sex offender databases.  Your responsibilities will involve transporting youth and you must have a valid driver’s license, adequate liability insurance, a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

The Director of Youth Ministries is a salary- only position. While we are not offering earthly benefits, you will have standard eternal benefits provided by God’s grace, no pre-existing condition limitations, eternally renewable and non-cancelable.
