Position Title:  Director of Children and Family Ministries (CM)

Accountable to: Senior Pastor and Children’s Ministry Committee

Classification: Full Time

Hours Worked:  40 hours/week, year round                          Exempt?        YES

Purpose of position:  To minister to children (infant through 5th grade), their parents, their families, and the community

Job Responsibilities:

●       Develop and implement the vision, budget and safety policies for CM in collaboration with the Children’s Committee and Elder Chair of Children’s Committee

●       Provide leadership and assessment for all Children Ministry Christian Education – Sunday Mornings, Wednesday Evenings, Church Retreats, All-Church mission trip

●       This includes programming, curriculum, training, resourcing, staffing, teaching, scheduling

●       Coordinate Volunteers/Teachers for CM including recruiting, training, supporting, resourcing, supervising

●       Provide opportunities for times of parent and family fellowship

●       Minister to parents and families through prayer, education, spiritual development, mentoring, nurture, email, conversation, attendance at special children’s events

●       Coordinate Worship and Music Elements of CM with CM Committee, Worship Committee, and MPC Staff

●       Initiate, plan and implement Outreach Programs including Vacation Bible School

●       Oversee facility upkeep of Children’s Wing (including all Sunday School rooms and Resource Room) in coordination with volunteers and Property Committee

●       Recruit, train, encourage, and supervise Nursery Attendants or volunteers

●       Attend Staff meetings, Children’s Ministry Committee Meetings, other MPC Committee Meetings on occasion, training sessions

●       Availability to parents, congregants by means of regularly scheduled office hours

●       Further integrate parents, families and children into times of worship together

●       Other duties as requested
