College Pastor

Westover Church has an opportunity for its new role of College Pastor. As our mission is to develop mature followers of Jesus Christ, we understand the significance of young adults growing in their faith through the college experience. This role will focus on strategic leadership, team development & direct ministry with college aged students. The College Pastor is supported by the Student Life Pastor & works collaboratively with the Student Life Ministry team.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Vision casting/strategic planning for college ministry & sharing that churchwide
• Build relationships with local colleges, universities & organizations to support a campus presence
• Recruit, develop and utilize student & adult leadership teams to further the reach of the college ministry
• Organize plans for outreach, relational evangelism, weekly programming & events that support students in their spiritual growth
• Cultivate an environment rich with small group support, mentoring, community service/missions opportunities
• Provide teaching and pastoral leadership to members of the group while personally mentoring students individually as a model for leaders
• Collaboration with Westover Church pastoral staff; attending weekly/monthly meetings with pastors
Candidate Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree (ministry focus preferred); MDiv or pursuit of MDiv preferred
• At least 2 years’ experience working with a college ministry full time
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with colleges & support a thriving ministry
