Co-Director of Student Ministry
Church Mission: Attract people to Christ, Build committed Christians, Commission disciples for ministry in our world.
Position Overview: The Co-Director Position is one that will be shared with another person to help co-lead United Student Ministry. These Directors will be responsible for leading, teaching, planning, organizing, facilitating and producing ministry for the students of First United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow who are in grades 6th – 12th .
Duties and Responsibilities:
Relational Ministry
- Visit, connect with, and contact students and parents on a regular basis
- Follow-Up with new students who visit student ministry programs / activities
- Invest in volunteer team in various ways such as gifts, cards, lunch, coffee, etc.
Leadership and Administration
- Share in planning and visioning of Youth Ministry
- Weekly Programing, Special Events, Summer Events, Etc.
- Share in teaching Wednesday Night and Sunday School
- Share in administrative duties
- Budget- Ministry, Camps, and Mission Trips
- Reconciling Receipts, and Turning In Money
- Emails- Parents, Students, and Volunteers
- Social Media- Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube
- Scheduling- Calendar Events, Café, and Volunteers
- Attendance
- Budget- Ministry, Camps, and Mission Trips
- Share in developing volunteer leadership team
- Recruit future volunteers
- Train future, and current volunteers
- Assign volunteers small groups and Sunday school
- Share in creating Wednesday Night, Sunday School, and Small Group Curriculum
- Serve as leader and/or driver on youth events
- Serve as Design Team member for Disciple Camp and Dayspring
- Share in planning and executing fundraisers for United Student Ministry Mission Trips
- Help participate and coordinate youth with VBS
Other Ministry Activities
- Help plan, participate, attend, and lead: Retreats, Camps, and Mission Trips
- Retreats –Winter, Fall, and Confirmation
- Camps- Dayspring, and Disciple
- Mission trips
- Attend, participate, and volunteer with other church ministries or church programs
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Attend weekly worship service
Supervision and Expectations: Reports to the Associate Pastor. Hours are determined in consultation with supervisor, and will usually include Sunday mornings and evenings, Wednesday evenings, office time, and contact/follow-up time as needed.
