Job Description:The Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministry is responsible to implement the values and mission of the church specifically by coordinating all youth, college, young adult, and family ministries. In consultation with the Pastor and in close partnership with the Director of Children’s Ministry, the Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministry is expected to develop a relational strategy of ministry that connects with and builds intergenerational bridges in all areas of ministry at First Presbyterian.

 

Specific Position Objectives:

  1. Investing heavily in student and family relationships: going where they are, learning who they are, and casting a compelling vision of God’s plans for their lives
  2. Organizing and leading excellent Middle School, High School, and College gatherings and experiences that help students encounter Jesus and become disciples
  3. Partnering with families to help raise their students to become disciples
  4. Challenging and facilitating the church to intentionally place all ages together in worship, service, and learning so that we will be a truly intergenerational church
  5. Building, developing, and mentoring an intergenerational, gospel centered leadership team to invest in students and families
  6. Building strategic relationships with local schools and organizations to reach students and families in our community

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Jesus, students, and families
  • Div. or equivalent preferred
  • Ordained pastor in ECO or willingness to change denominations
  • Experience leading a growing youth ministry
  • Experience leading and developing a flourishing volunteer culture
  • Great communication skills
  • Self-starter
  • Team player
  • Above reproach character
