Free Resource: Refugee Discussion Guide

During the past couple of weeks the news cycle has been dominated by heated discussion about immigration and refugees. When things like this come up we at The Youth Cartel begin to ask youth workers if the teenagers in their ministries are talking about these things to them and if they feel equipped to have a meaningful, Jesus-focused discussion.

Overwhelmingly, we’ve heard that youth workers do indeed want to have this discussion, they know it’s important to their students, but they just don’t know where to start or how to have the discussion in a non-political, productive way.

So that’s why were are stepping in to offer this free resource for you. Our goal is simple: To equip you to lead a discussion.

The Refugee Discussion Guide will help your group have an in-depth and informed conversation around these two questions:

  1. What is a refugee? (How does a person become a refugee, what’s involved in a refugee leaving their country and coming to the United States?
  2. What does the Bible say about refugees? (What does the Bible have to say about refugees and how that might inform as as believers today?)

What’s Included in the Discussion Guide?

  • A 5-page discussion guide
  • Slides for use on your favorite presentation system

To get it, just fill out the form below and we’ll email it to you.

  1. Thanks for this resource.

One correction: There is no organization called “the United States High Commission for Refugees”. This should read “the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees” (UN, not US). In fact, refugees don’t apply directly to a specific country, nor can they choose which country they end up assigned to; they go through the UN.
