About the Next Gen Pastor:
The Next Gen Pastor at Crossroads Church Peosta will implement the vision and mission for Crossroads Kids (birth - 5th) and Crossroads Students (6th-12th). He will have demonstrated his ability to be a leader of leaders by having led a growing Children’s or Student ministry. Our Next Gen pastor will execute his responsibilities by leading through teams and ministry staff. The Next Gen Pastor will leverage his skills and abilities by collaborating with the pastoral team to help the people of Crossroads love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus. The Next Gen Pastor will become the face of family ministry.
The Next Gen Pastor Responsibilities Include:
Dreaming, planning, and executing a ministry where unchurched kids and students can’t resist attending, and where church kids and students are taking the next steps with Jesus.
Developing relationships with the families of Crossroads.
Creating and maintaining safe and engaging environments for children and students to best encounter God’s love.
Volunteer management: recruiting, training, and weekly scheduling.
Collaborating with the Community Life Pastor to establish training and equipping sessions for parents.
Maintaining clear and consistent communication with parents of children and students.
Providing oversight for special events.
Pastoring those who God has already brought to Crossroads while seeing himself as a pastor to the thousands of 0 to 18-year old’s who don’t have a relationship with Christ.
Crossroads Kids Specifics
Provide oversight for paid childcare workers.
Provide oversight for a part-time family associate.
Resource the Kids Ministry for Sunday mornings: curriculum, set-up, and tear-down, purchasing, check-in, etc.
Crossroads Students Specifics
Preach at least 40 times a year at Student worship service.
Provide oversight for volunteer teams.
Provide training, vision, and encouragement for student ministry leaders.
Resource Crossroads Students for Wednesday evenings: sermons, curriculum, set-up and tear-down, purchasing, check-in, etc.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
5+ years of ministry experience is required.
An undergraduate degree in a relevant major is required.
A Seminary degree would be a bonus.
Personal Characteristics & Qualifications
Be on mission with Crossroads - love God; love people; make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Ability to establish good chemistry with the team.
Evangelical oriented toward unchurched and de-churched.
Heart for the county including rural Peosta.
Willingness to go above and beyond.
Ability to handle difficult conversations.
Ability to take responsibility.

We’re located in Peosta Iowa, about 15 minutes from the city of Dubuque, Iowa, and only 20 minutes from the Mississippi River. While Peosta sits on the edge of suburban and rural, Dubuque has a lot of big-city attractions with the charm of a smaller town. With the booming art and social scene, the greater Dubuque area offers plenty of coffee shops, hiking trails, and cultural attractions. Dubuque is located in the tri-state area of Wisconsin and Illinois. Madison, WI is only a 90-minute drive and Chicago is just shy of 3 hours. With several major cities nearby, Crossroads Church Peosta is located in a prime location that gives you the best combination of rural, suburban, and urban destinations.
North Eastern Iowa is home to some fantastic attractions. The historic Field of Dreams is only about 20 minutes away from Peosta. Likewise, just a few minutes north of Peosta you can find Sundown Mountain Resort. The skiing resort has amenities that are geared for the serious skier and families alike. Outdoorsmen can chase some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the country, as well as enjoy fishing on the waters of the Mississippi. There is no doubt that Peosta is growing. Houses are practically popping out of the ground, and new restaurants are opening as we speak. This young community revolves around the community center (where Crossroads meets for worship) as state-of-the-art ballfields and parks provide lots of activities for families of all types. Whether you're a bit trendy and looking for culture or a bit outdoorsy, there is something for everyone here.
