The Director builds and leads a vibrant, comprehensive, Christ-centered ministry with amazing teams of adults and youth from classes to confirmation to camps.
Middle School Ministry: You'll get to work with pastors, staff, and volunteers to lead and administer comprehensive Middle School youth ministry, working on developing and heading up Confirmation Ministry (Grades 7-8), and connecting with 6th-8th grade students regularly. Teach and lead in collaboration with the pastor(s). We'll get to recruit, train, and grow with adult leaders, design regular faith formation, service, and fellowship. It also means fun extras like confirmation retreats and/or camp opportunities. Sunday mornings & Wednesday evenings are regular times to be with our youth in this area.
High School Ministry: You'll get to work with pastors, staff, and even more volunteers to lead and administer comprehensive High School ministry too. Sunday morning discussions, small groups, all sorts of activities, and their own annual mission trips, retreat, and/or camp opportunities. Sunday mornings and evenings & Wednesday evenings are regular times to be with our youth in this area.
Other Goodies: Coordinate and develop trips, retreats, and opportunities for college-aged students, checking in and following up with all the new visitors requesting information about student ministries, and extra activities and opportunities with other local youth ministries/directors. Trips have ranged from local denominational camps to traveling to NYC, Florida, the Great Lakes areas to the Rockies. You would be part of a 3-person Faith Formation team dedicated to a philosophy of gathering students together with trained and dedicated adults who care and accept them for who they are and help them become who God's calling them to be. Our ideas are sometimes out there, our willingness to experiment is high, and our worships are distinctive and engaging. No matter your background, you'll find a home at HCLC and a place where God's Spirit is working through you to help these students be amazing where they are right now!
