Ecclesiastes 7:12; Proverbs 10:14
I don’t think there is anyone quite as pumped for school to start as this guy. He might be suspiciously pumped for school. Perhaps he sells trays to schools or something? He definitely has a caffeine addiction.
But he has some great points, too. It’s easy to think about the beginning of a new school year and complain. Obviously, summer vacation is more fun than going back to school, but going back to school is both a huge privilege and a great opportunity not afforded to every teenager in the world.
Solomon, whom the Bible says was the wisest man ever, had this to say about education: “Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.” (Ecclesiastes 7:12) In other words, once you learn something you can’t lose it… it’s always there!
- Have you ever been nervous to start school?
- Would you rather go to a brand new school every year or stay at the same school forever?
- If you could change one rule at your school, what would it be?
Chew on this:
If wisdom is a shelter than why is education so dangerous around the world?[hr]
