Stuff We Believe

Our Beliefs, So You Can Relax

This is tricky.  We know some people only care that we like Jesus and know what we’re talking about when it comes to teenagers.  But others – understandably – care to know what we believe about faith stuff.

The big picture is that we’re committed, and have been for a long time, to serving the whole church.  We’re big tent people.  We don’t have to have theological alignment on every minor issue to serve your needs, or even to be friends.  In fact, we find that being around people from different theological and church traditions sharpens us, and God always teaches us something new.

That said, it’s fair to say that both of us (Marko and Adam) grew up in the world of evangelicalism, and still hold to the basics of that theological perspective.  The cleanest way of stating what we believe is to say that we both fully affirm the truths of the Apostle’s Creed:

Apostle’s Creed

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
